The Studios
In the year 2000, while working a regular 9 – 5 job, DWI ensured that his vision is put in place, while getting out of the rat race he started his passion out of his apartment living room. Recording artists and creating beats for purchase to cater to the artists was the only service that could be provided at that time. He knew right then and there that there are so many talented individuals that are looking for a break into the world.
The same way that these individuals needed a break so did DWI. Urban Threshold CEO & Underground Music Award Founder, Jessie Jesse, gave the idea to DWI to produce a radio show and fortunately with a mind so out of this world & thinking out of the box, DWI took all into a next level – his break; the time when DaMatrix was born.
At that time there were only a few Indie radio shows and having to create his own radio station is a very brave move on his part, which makes DWI a pioneer and a trailblazer.
Having his vision to help and influence others he makes sure that each crafts of the artists are produced in an absolute quality. His focus is to help different varieties of artists from unsigned to major, upcoming DJs and radio show host and future entrepreneurs from any field, everyone had an equal treatment that is to be branded and that is the reason why DaMatrix was created. With that being said, NextUp Radio show was created which became the signature of the station. NextUp Radio created by DWI stands for “New Extraordinary Talented Urban People Radio.”
In 2004 August, DWI had created a new home for DaMatrix Studios-a 475 square ft. studio on Boston Road Bronx, NY is the new residence. From his vision, he made sure that DaMatrix Studio stays within the area of where he grew to be a remembrance to keep on being humble. Also, this new residence for DaMatrix Studio, the same building used to be Stardust Ballroom where all hip-hop founders used to party, the importance of this move is just phenomenal. DaMatrix Studio opened the opportunity for others; shows are pre-recorded from the DaMatrix Studio and aired on FM Radio, great reviews was given one of the reason why DWI chose to start his internet radio movement in 2008 – DaMatrix Radio Vision was created which allowed people to interact live, from chatting, listening and calling the show. Everyone has a time to shine.
A vision to be heard in every part of the world, to be known & to connect with other cultures is DWI & DaMatrix Studios’ focused movement. With the technology now a days this is not hard to do, as when DaMatrix started there were only 3 shows but now it is greater than 20 shows per week. This is a proof that quality is important as people with dreams do ensure that their vision is clearly portrayed to the viewers. DaMatrix Studio is backed with a team that is well-experienced in producing to marketing not only locally but also internationally and this what sets the studio apart from others.
